Chapter 7: The Invincible Dream


“Ugh...” Syaoran moaned. His hands were numb at first so were the rest of his body. He immediately opened his eyes and stood up. He found himself standing in a sphere, a thick but clear one of which was hovering over an enormous and endless looking pit.

He felt around the sphere. Knowing that he would be endangering himself if he tried to escape, he looked around. There were other orbs like the one he’s trapped in but of many different sizes. Each contains a ball of light at each center.

Right next to him was Sakura resting in a larger orb,”Sakura!” Syaoran called.

His voice echoed within the orb, the girl did not stir. Syaoran pounded on the barrier, each impact at its hardest.

Sakura opened her eyes slowly and looked around as she sat up. “Syaoran-kun!” Sakura exclaimed as she put her hands up to the barrier.

Syaoran stopped bashing his prison. Syaoran looked up to Sakura, relieved to see that she was all right and smiled to her. Sakura smiled back.

Suddenly a strange purple light in a concave shaped with a large marking appeared and has seemed to summon the orbs that contained Syaoran and Sakura. The two were only surprised as they went through the inky darkness.  

The couple appeared in what was a large room, perhaps a throne room, with pillars of which seemed to be made of pure black but polished granite. Outside the pillars you can see the graying skies. A large, black chandelier hung from the ceiling and is faintly emitting a soft violet light.

The most notable feature was a large silver throne, bright enough you would think it’s made of ice. Curtains the color of crimson almost concealed the throne as it was lightly touching the floor let alone the throne. The arm rests smoothed away from the seat like water frozen in time. A black figure that sat on the throne was seen with his right arm was reaching out for the two.

The orbs floated towards the ground and popped as it touched the smooth floor.
Finding themselves sitting on the floor, the two got up and faced the dark figure as he got up.

The person was a tall male with deep eyes of violet. His dark hair lightly brushed his fair skin. His long azure robes glided above the floor as he walked towards Sakura and Syaoran.   

The man just smiled,” Glad to you see you both.”

His smile quickly disappeared as he looked at Sakura with disapproval. Sakura couldn’t help but tremble as his dark eyes gazed upon her in his presence. Syaoran was struck speechless. A portal flashing green appeared on the polished floor.

Shinji materialized from it, “Saito you summoned me?” he said softly.

Saito turned to him with eyes strong; about to say something when another portal opened tinted purple.  

Miyuki stepped out of the light with an unconscious body floating and following her as she advanced towards Saito.

Sakura couldn’t help but gasp,” My body!!!”

Miyuki stopped her steps and looked at the princess with her bright blue but blank eyes,” I finished Shinji’s job big brother,” the girl just said as she turned to Saito.

Shinji was about to argue but Saito interrupted,” Now comes the process of reuniting the bodies with the souls of those two.”

Miyuki just fanned the air in front of her looking towards Sakura, as she does so the little girl just floated swiftly towards Sakura enwrapped in a soft violet light and then stood vertically still floating in the air. Shinji then shook his fist of which bind Syaoran’s body almost immediately with green light.

“Syaoran!” Sakura exclaimed but then she started to float and was surrounded in a soft blue light. Saito was responsible but nevertheless had her float towards her body.

Sakura couldn’t move at all and tried to resist. Suddenly her chest started hurting, her body started turning cold. It hurts so much that Sakura started crying. Looking over to her body, she realized her body was doing the same. Chains of light started to connect the two bodies and started to pull at each other. Both cried out of pain.

“Sakura!” Syaoran struggled wringing to get free; Shinji’s bind was too strong.

All of a sudden a pink light shined from Sakura’s silver bracelet. It glowed and then it filled up the room with a warm light. Shinji, Saito, and Miyuki had suddenly disappeared from sight.

Released from his chains Syaoran ran immediately to the two girls as they were floating down. Light is still being emitted from the bracelet and was surrounding the group. With both Sakuras’ still conscious they slowly landed and collapsed. Almost immediately the light receded and the three find themselves back in Tomoeda.

Sakura could feel her hands moving, her chest heaving as she caught her breath. Her head felt light, she slowly opened her eyes and smiled. Syaoran who was holding her, smiled back. Next to him was Princess Sakura, back in her body, almost surprised she went back to sleep.

Syaoran was sitting down waiting impatiently, as he was advised by Yukito to do so. Fay who was sitting next to him tried to comfort him,”Sakura-chan will be alright, I’m sure of it.”

Syaoran just shook his head, “I’m worried about both of them.”

Kurogane just said bluntly in an almost caring way, “They won’t die so easily.”

Syaoran just smiled faithfully; meanwhile Mokona and Kero are looking out the window as the clouds started darkening once again.

Shinji bashed his fist on the table,” We were so close!”

His hand started bleeding as the table cracked. Miyuki was playing around with her flowers, “I wonder what caused the interference.”

“Only SHE could have done it,” Saito just answered frustrated.

Miyuki and Shinji stopped and looked to Saito. “Why is SHE interfering?” Shinji immediately asked.

Saito looked at them with wary eyes, “His goals are just the same as ours, but his methods are completely different.

Miyuki looked worried, “What should we do?”

“Nothing…,”Saito just said and clenched his hand; “The invincible dream will be ours and only ours!”
